Happy New Year!

Happy new year everyone. Just thought I would take this opportunity to say thanks for downloading Cannibal Holocaust the Horrorgrind Cut. I uploaded it to Demonoid one week ago today, and it has been downloaded 125 times.. much more than my H1000C edit. I hope everyone has enjoyed what I've done so far and thank you for all the kind words I've received!

Soon I will have more info on my next project. Please don't be surprised if this one takes much longer to edit than the previous ones. I want to take it slow for a while and really think about what I want to do with it before I attempt any cutting. As always, I will keep you posted.

Cannibal Holocaust: The Horrorgrind Cut

Ruggero Deodato's Cannibal Holocaust
The Horrorgrind Cut

Status:
Completed
Percent Completed: 100%

Original Runtime: 1 hour 30 minutes
New Runtime: 42 minutes

Description:
I have always thought that Cannibal Holocaust could easily be split into two films. So when I started Horrorgrind Home Video, one of the first films on my list to fanedit was this one. My goal with this edit was to focus almost entirely on the documentary footage taken by the four filmmakers and cut out all of Professor Monroe's journey into the Jungle. I wanted it to appear as though the footage recovered from the jungle was authentic, the deaths were authentic, and the brutality authentic.
Professor Monroe's role in the film has been altered to just an audience member watching the horrific footage. All the other scenes of him have been removed. What we are left with is a much shorter, and hopefully more realistic experience.

Changes:
- Removed all scenes with Professor Monroe except for his viewing of the footage in the theater with the television producers and when he walks out of the building at the end.
/ Moved the opening title to after the news anchors report on Alan and the others never returning.
- Removed many scenes of interviews with the film makers' friends and family.
- Removed the scene of the forced abortion. This was done to put more focus on the brutality of the film makers and less on the natives.

change of plans.

Don't worry, Cannibal Holocaust is progressing smoothly. In fact...

Release date for Cannibal Holocaust The Horrorgrind Cut: December 24th

Told you it would be out before Christmas. haha. The only thing I have left to do is finish up the menus and create the DVD art. I'm still learning DVD Lab Pro so bear with me. I think that what I have put together will be pretty well done. I don't want to half-ass anything. I'm kind of anal about stuff like that. That's the main reason why I wanted to go back and fix my House of 1000 Corpses edit.
I know I brought up the House of 1000 corpses re-re-edit last time, but right after I had posted it, Retro Horror Remix emails me and tells me that he just finished doing the exact same thing to his H1000C edit. So, I think it's best to just put that on hold. My H1000C edit just came out anyway. Don't want to rush things. Looking forward to RHR's version though. Hopefully there will be some kind of collaboration project between us some time in the future.
Also, the release date for the Fanedit.org's Zombie Consecution Project has been announced as around January 20th. Make sure you check it out.
